Obiettivi formativi
Gli obiettivi formativi consistono nel (a) Fornire conoscenze aggiornate sulle principali aree di indagine della psicologia generale, (b) Favorire una comprensione critica delle conoscenze acquisite e (c) Favorire la riflessione autonoma sui temi trattati.
Aims of the lectures are (a) to provide up-to-date knowledge of the main research areas in general psychology, (b) to promote a critical understanding of the knowledge acquired, and (c) to encourage independent thinking about the topics covered.

Una comunicazione efficace passa da una buona conoscenza dei processi cognitivi che regolano il modo in cui gli individui percepiscono ed elaborano le informazioni, e interagiscono tra loro e con il contesto in cui sono immersi. L'insegnamento si propone di fornire una panoramica delle principali funzioni cognitive (e.g., memoria, attenzione, percezione, ragionamento, motivazione, emozione, linguaggio), con un'attenzione particolare ai modelli teorici su cui si basa il loro funzionamento e ai loro risvolti applicativi.
Effective communication requires a good knowledge of the cognitive processes that govern both the way individuals perceive and process information and the way they interact with each other and the surrounding context. Lectures will provide an overview of the major cognitive functions (e.g., memory, attention, perception, reasoning, motivation, emotion, language), with particular emphasis on the theoretical models that explain their operation and on their practical implications.

L'accertamento della preparazione avverrà attraverso un esame orale volto a verificare l’apprendimento dei principali temi della psicologia generale. In particolare, saranno accertate la capacità di ragionare in modo critico sulle tematiche affrontate, la conoscenza dei concetti psicologici principali, e l’uso di un linguaggio che ne rifletta l’acquisizione.
Sarà possibile sostenere l’esame orale in lingua inglese.
Ciascun* student* avrà, inoltre, la possibilità di sostenere un pre-test scritto con validità annuale. Il pre-test sarà composto da 31 domande con risposte a scelta multipla (4 alternative) e il voto sarà espresso in trentesimi. Alle risposte corrette sarà assegnato 1 punto, a quelle non date o sbagliate 0 punti. Il tempo a disposizione sarà di 30 minuti.
I voti del pre-test saranno pubblicati sulla pagina Moodle del corso in forma anonima (solo numero di matricola) e ciascun* student* ne riceverà anche comunicazione sulla propria mail istituzionale (@edu.unito.it).
- Qualora la valutazione del pre-test scritto fosse sufficiente (≥ 18/30), ciascun* student* dovrà comunicare l’intenzione di accettare o non accettare il voto, rispondendo dall’indirizzo istituzionale (@edu.unito.it) alla mail ricevuta. Comunicare l’accettazione del voto implica verbalizzare il voto durante uno degli appelli senza dover sostenere la prova orale.
- Qualora la valutazione del pre-test non fosse sufficiente (<18), oppure non si intenda accettarne il voto, oppure non fosse stato sostenuto, l’accertamento dell’apprendimento avverrà in forma orale nel corso di uno degli appelli.
Si ricorda a studenti e studentesse che in tutti i casi sopra descritti, è OBBLIGATORIO ISCRIVERSI a UNO DEGLI APPELLI.
Si ricorda anche che il pre-test HA VALIDITÀ DI UN ANNO ACCADEMICO.
L'esame orale e il pre-test si baseranno sul testo di riferimento indicato e sul materiale presentato a lezione, senza differenze fra studenti frequentanti e non frequentanti.
Preparation is evaluated by an oral examination designed to determine learning of the major topics in general psychology. In particular, critical thinking skills, knowledge of key concepts, and use of language that reflects this knowledge will be assessed.
It is possible to take the oral exam in English.
Students also have the option of taking a written pre-test with annual validity. The pre-test consists of 31 multiple-choice questions (4 answer choices); scoring is in thirtieths. Correct answers are scored 1 point, while not given or wrong answers are scored 0 points. The time available is 30 minutes.
If the evaluation of the written pretest is sufficient (≥18/30), students may accept and record the grade during one of the examination sessions without taking the oral exam. If the written pre-test score is insufficient (<18) or the student does not wish to accept the grade, the assessment of the learning will take place during the oral exam.
The results of the pre-test will be published anonymously (only the matriculation number) on the Moodle page of the course, and the students will also receive a message at their institutional email address (@edu.unito.it).
- If the written pretest score is sufficient (≥18/30), each student will be requested to communicate the decision to accept or not accept the score obtained, by responding to the email received using the institutional address (@edu.unito.com). The notification of acceptance of the obtained score implies to register the score in one of the exam sessions (appello) without having to take the oral exam.
- If the pretest score is not sufficient (<18) or the score is not accepted, or the pretest has not been sustained, the learning outcome will be assessed orally in one of the exam sessions (appello).
Students are reminded that in all the cases described above, IT IS MANDATORY TO REGISTER TO ONE OF THE EXAM SESSIONS (appelli).
In addition, students are reminded that the pretest is valid FOR ONE ACADEMIC YEAR.
The oral exam and the written pre-test will be based on the reference text indicated as well as on the material presented at lectures, with no differences between attending and non-attending students.
